House goals
Publishing is an enlightening work, and the house carries the lights of enlightenment to the recipient, in addition to its endeavor to overcome the problems of book distribution. As well as the problems of the difficulty of moving the book between the Arab countries.
Al-Ain Publishing House is trying to overcome these difficulties by linking the artistic value of the work and raising the ceiling of the house's writers' freedom, and we support that by following a high-level artistic and typographical format.
House values
- Victory for freedom of expression and encouraging serious promising pens.
- Respect for intellectual property.
- Fulfilling the material and moral rights of writers.
- Respecting the reader by taking care of producing the book in a sober and attractive form and producing it at the lowest possible price.
- Establishing a relationship with other publishing houses in which honest competition does not preclude the possibility of creating opportunities for fruitful cooperation in favor of the advancement of Arab culture.
- A firm conviction that the printed book will continue to play a decisive role in spreading culture, while striving for electronic publishing, side by side, in a gradual and deliberate manner.
Dar Al Ain Cultural Salon
Dar Al Ain has a vision for publishing that goes beyond book production. The house has been keen from the outset to give the writer and creator his own distinction by celebrating him. Not just an autograph. However, by holding seminars in which the writer engages with his audience directly, and dialogues with critics if the subject needs critical deliberation, so Al Ain Cultural Salon was an integral part of Al Ain Publishing House.
The salon hosted a number of personalities, including Al-Tayeb Salih, the Sudanese writer with “Season of Migration to the North,” Dr. Farouk Al-Baz, and the book “The Corridor of Development and Reconstruction.” The famous scientific translator, Dr. Mostafa Fahmy, is in many books, the most important of which are the book “Warning from a World” and the book “Learning Science in the Century”. Dr. Abd al-Wahhab al-Masiri, may God have mercy on him, was a guest at the salon, and Dr. Mohsen al-Ayni, the former Prime Minister of Yemen, who discussed his book “Echoes of Fifty Years in Quick Sands,” and the great thinker “Samir Amin” and his book “On Criticism of Current Arab Discourse”…. etc.
The publishing house also took it upon itself to prepare seminars for some books and writers, even if they were not among its publications, out of belief in the publishing houses' mission to support knowledge and the arts.
House strategy
In order for the house to be able to fulfill this enlightening message, it has adopted several strategic directions, the summary of which is:
- Invitation to distinguished writers who are known for their originality of thought and the ingenuity of artistic and intellectual handling.
- Extreme accuracy in selecting the content of the publications to meet the needs of the contemporary Arab reader, and to address the most important questions posed by the efforts of individual and community development. With the need to link this idea with reality.
- Focusing on scientific culture in its comprehensive sense without ignoring other fields, motivated by keenness to achieve the existing knowledge integration between science and arts.
- Addressing the phenomenon of the knowledge explosion by focusing on the central concepts and ideas, not on the amount of information after the Internet opened the flood gates to the roaring information flow.
- Cooperating with publishers in Egypt and the Arab world, and translating leading books published by foreign publishing houses, with an interest in those books that reflect the dialogue of human civilizations.
Attributes believed in by Al Ain Publishing House
- Establishing a new relationship between the publisher and the writers, so that the two parties merge into one family linked by a common cultural concern, and the desire to revive vitality and fertility in cultural life.
- Ensure that readers are invited to join this cultural family through a monthly cultural salon in which readers are allowed to meet directly with their writers and scholarly critics to discuss the works of these writers.
- The presence of the house's page on Facebook, to serve as a bridge of communication between the house and its audience on the one hand, and between readers and their writers on the other hand.
